I really liked this book as it is has a clear plotline that is easy to follow and the characters were very well developed and easy to relate to. Nico starts out as the average teenager, wanting to ask out a girl he really cares for (Ketty), who he thinks is being persued by another boy. In order to impress her, he is tricked into doing all sorts of things with his newly developed powers that he struggles with morally. Overall it was a very good book that I would recommend to everyone.

I really liked this book, I thought it was fantastic. It's a great story and the characters in it are all really special and unique in their own way. I love the fact that they don't make it sound like it's magic, but the fact that it's very scientifical is great. I love that in books. I would recommend this book to anybody because it's suitable for everyone and altogether it's just an amazing book.
— Emer, Holy Cross College, Strabane
This book was awsome. I loved the way at the end of every chapter your left hanging. This makes you want to read on and on. It was exciting. I really enjoyed this book. It has been one of my favourites so far. It is well written and once I started reading I just couldn't stop. This book is filled with adventure and how far this boy Nico would go to be with the girl he loved. It keeps you on your toes and it will keep you guessing. This book is interesting. The character Nico is very hard to understand at the start but as the book continues his personality blossoms. He comes across as a cocky and arrogant lad who only thinks about girls but really it is just put on and he is actually a genuine nice guy I would definetly reccomend this book to everyone. I really hope there is a follow up to this book. ENJOY READING.

A great book with a page turning plot. Although I did find it a bit predictable as I knew Kitty was the fourth person almost as soon as it was mentioned.

It was very mysterious and very suprising to find out that there was more than one person with a power. I thought it was very confusing at the start but it was clearer in the end. I wound definintely recommend it to someone who likes mystery books.
— Hollie, Sacred Heart College, Omagh
A good story that was fast paced, the title is apt as the story 'sets up' the main characters for further adventures in forth-coming books. I read this book very quickly as the story flowed really well and I wanted to see what happened next.
— Mrs Beattie, St Paul's Junior H S, Lurgan
I thought that this book was a very good read. However the plot was quite predictable. But I loved the chemistry between the characters and I loved the way the story between them played out.

— Angus , Methodist College Belfast
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was different from any other books I have read and that's why I liked it. Nico is a character hard to describe. He is stubborn, popular and has a huge crush on a girl called Ketty who loves reading, running and being herself.Just when things are going well The Medusa gene gets in the way, what will happen next? the end took me by surprise, I wasn't expecting it. I'm just about waiting patiently for the next book comming out "The Hostage"
— Caitriona, St Genevieve's

— Aine, Sacred Heart College, Omagh
I thought this book was really good as it had lots of twists and turns in the tale. I seriously want to read the rest of them when they come out! My one critism is that I kind of guessed who Viper was but it didn't stop me from loving the book. Especially that dramatic ending on the clifftop!!!
— Kerri, St Paul's Bessbrook
It was very addictive. I didn't want to set this book down.
— Paul, St Patrick's High School, Keady

The book was very good i was glued to it. It was very modern and it was spoken in a type of slang
and it was easily underst0od.
— Eugene, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen
It had a good plotline, but it was a bit clichêd. It was full of excitement but too predictable.

— Elizabeth, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown
An interesting and gripping read. A great introduction to a new series, about 4 teens who because of a gene experiment before they were born have now developed psychic powers. Although predictable in parts it still left you wanting more. I look forward to the next book.
— Mrs McConnell, St Louise's, Belfast
I thought the book was really interesting as soon as I read the first page I wanted to read on. Altogether it was the best book i have ever read . The best part of the book was when they found out that the girl had powers too and was able to see into the future and nobody else knew that.
There is actually another book to carry on the story called The Hostage and i can't wait to read it!!!
— Yasemin, Belfast Royal Academy
This book is an on the edge of your set thriller and romance story all rolled into one. This is a FANTASTIC book
— Simon, Bangor Grammar School
I thought this book was brilliant it was really interesting and I enjoyed it so much. The beginning to near the ending is amazing to read, but the ending is really predictable and it isn't really exciting. Although the ending isn't great, it is still exciting and mysterious, I would definitely recommend it to a friend of any age.
— Rebecca, Lisneal College, L'Derry
The Medusa Project by Sophie McKenzie takes on a unique twist to the idea of gene therapy and moulding children to desired ideals. McKenzie blends science and drama and a fast paced action to create a novel rich with potential and fun and I reccomend this and if you are into suspense then by all means read this book. I can't wait till the hostage comes out.
— Joiel, St Paul's Junior H S, Lurgan
I think that this is one of the best books I have ever read, it is utterly unputdownable and the thing I like about it is that it is very creative and that the charactars in the book are very compelling. Anyone who likes reading exciting books should read this. 10 out of 10, this book deserved every bit of it.
— Joiel, St Paul's Junior H S, Lurgan
I thought this book was very good and i loved reading it.
the charachters were very interesting with all their different personality's and i can't wait until number 2!!
Shíl mé go raibh an leabhar seo ar fheabhas agus bhí se an-suimuil
bhí na charachtair uilig den scoth agus ní thig liom fanacht go dtagann uimhir 2 amach!!
— aoife, Colaiste Feirste
I thought this book was really good. I couldn't stop reading it. It is imaginative and you can never guess what's going to happen next. You wouldn't think it would end the way it did as it starts off in a completely different atmosphere!
— Kellie, Lisneal College, L'Derry
I really was ready to give up on this book! It seemed very predictable and took a while to get going. However it is actually worth persevering with as the book gathers speed and excitement builds so that the ending is a really cliff hanger (literally!)
