this book is brillant i love all the characters and it is the best book i've ever read and i would recommend it to anybody and at the start it was a bit scary but it got better near the end.

Yasemin, Belfast Royal Academy  10 out of 10

THE GRAVEYARD BOOK is now one of my all-time favourite books. It keeps the reader interested by turning every chapter into a short story with a dark, underlaying plot the whole way through. I would highly recommend The Graveyard Book to my friends and readers of all ages.

Katie, Belfast Royal Academy  10 out of 10

this book was good i would recomend it to boys & girls. it wasn't 1 of favourite books. at the start it was really good but near the end i started to lose interest in it. i thought it was goin to be a bit better

chloe, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen  6 out of 10

I think this book was class and it was really exciting! It was one of the best books I have ever read! :p My fave character was Bod, because he was very realistic. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy/horror! I love the way the boy has a different perspective on life because his knowledge comes from ghosts!

Harvey, Other School  9 out of 10

This was a brilliant book. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book, it is one of the best I have ever read.

Conor, Bangor Grammar School  10 out of 10

I really enjoyed this book-a very good read. The book talks about Bod in the graveyard which I really liked because it mentioned about all the ghosts that lived centuries ago. The language was a bit difficult to understand, but you get the gist of it. A very interesting story and nice details about the graveyard. The killer at the start was a very good way to grab the readers curiosity. Very good detail with excellent use of language.

Shannon, Holy Cross College, Strabane  8 out of 10

I really enjoyed this book because it was very exciting. I would recommend highly for anyone above the age of 11. It is very suitable for anyone above that age. I found very fascinating and enjoyeble I shall certainly re-read it as it is different from my usual fantasy books.
Yours Sincerely

Emma, Other School  2 out of 10

ciara, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen  7 out of 10

I didn’t really like this book because I thought it was really boring and not fun at all. I thought the story line was good at first but when I really got into the story I fell straight back out - it was that boring :(

Jonathan, St Patrick's High School, Keady  4 out of 10

The graveyard book wasn’t my favourite book to read, it was exciting to begin with but the ending was quite disappointing.

Noeleen, St Patrick's High School, Keady  7 out of 10

This book was very good but its not one of my favourite books. At the start it was interesting but nearer the end I lost concentration in it!

Aveen, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen  7 out of 10

This booK is the greatest book in the world! I felt like reading it over and over again.Even though I'm a girl and it was about ghosts it was really enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone. Good book for boys and girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Claire, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen  10 out of 10

I really liked this book especially the first chapter!!! The Drama workshop made me want to read this book. The start and the ending were really exciting and made it hard to stop reading. But the middle bits were a little boring and confusing. For example the part about the ghoul gate. But when I was reading this I thought the author has such a brilliant imagination, but the why he wrote it made it seem realistic. I think this is the best book Neil Gaiman has written! (if you liked this you'll love Coraline!!)

Chloe, Sullivan Upper School  8 out of 10

It is not the best book but it is good. The first chapter is the best ,but the third chapter is quite hard to understand. Other than that it is a thriller, and the author Niel Gaimen well I think it is the best book he has written so far. My favourite part of the book is when he kills the babys family and I think it should win the award.

omr , Royal Belfast Academical Institution  8 out of 10

It was a great book and I enjoyed it. It will really get your imagination running and I would recommend it to anyone who likes books that are really unrealistic.

When you start to read it i'm telling you that you really can't stop!!! You really should read it!!!

I give it full marks!

Nina, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen  10 out of 10

I quite liked the book because it was the perfect for me and I like the starting of the book where the Murder is happening.I like the boys name 'BOD' because it is funny.
Anybody who reads this should read the Book because it is marvellous.

Arvin, Bangor Grammar School  6 out of 10

I didn't really like this book because I found the book a bit boring.

Brian, St Joseph's College Coalisland  4 out of 10

I liked this book because it was a bit scary. It would be good for 10 or 11 years old but I don't think it would appeal to older ones. I would give it 6 out of 10

Eimhear, St Joseph's College Coalisland  6 out of 10

This book was seriously weird as it was about a baby who escapes to a garveyard as his family gets murdered! The book was a great one and it was hard to put down!

Nandhu, Aquinas  10 out of 10

I really enjoyed this book. It is one of the best books I have ever read. I couldn't stop reading it and would happily read it again.

Cara, Aquinas  10 out of 10

ab.so.lut.ly FANTASTIC
I enjoyed every minute of it and i loved the plot for the man jack.
I loved the way it describes the characters and i thought it was very page turning, i couldn't put it down.
I would recomend this book to anyone who loves adventures.

niamh, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen  10 out of 10

The book had very long chapters - so I didn't read to the end of it, as I don't like books with long chapters. I read most of it and what I did read was good.

Ryan, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  8 out of 10

I really enjoyed this book! It had a great story to it, and it was exciting!

Ellen, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  9 out of 10

I loved this book, it had a great story and it was a book that encouraged me to read more and more of it. It was fantastic!

Tina, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  10 out of 10

The start of the book was really good though near the middle of the book when the murder scene was coming to a end i thought there was nothing left in the book. Apart from that it was a decent book.

Robin, Royal Belfast Academical Institution  6 out of 10

I really enjoyed this book. There was a really exciting start to the story although it was sort of a sad start because a family was killed and there was a baby involved. The book then got very scarey towards the end because a little boy was being chased. I really enjoyed this book and i would read it again!

Evangeline, Sacred Heart College, Omagh  8 out of 10

I thought that from the first page it makes you want to read on. The way the man Jack disgised himself was really clever and when he went to kill Bod I didn't stop shaking for ages. The Silas were soooooooooo freaky.

Katie, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen  10 out of 10

I though it was really good!.It was scary when the man Jack was Mr Frost! I thought he was going to kill Bod. It was a sad book as Bod's family was killed when he was a baby and I liked the mackabray dance.

Ciara, Sacred Heart College, Omagh  10 out of 10

An excellent book which had a very unusual storyline. Extremely readable and scarily enough very believable. One of the best books I have read in a long time. Suitable for all ages from 9 up.

Mrs Beattie, St Paul's Junior H S, Lurgan  10 out of 10

three word brilliant thrilling and extreme

marta, Other School  10 out of 10

The drama workshop we went to made me want to read this book. I think this book was very good but quite sad. I really enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to everyone!

Sebastian, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  9 out of 10

I loved this book. The themes of the book all tied in together. I love the plot of the book and the way it was described was brilliant . I would recommend it to my friends.

Shannon, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  10 out of 10

I have to disagree with my other readers as I didn't like this book. I found it hard to get into and struggled to read it.

Kerri, St Paul's Bessbrook  1 out of 10

This book was a really good read. Though, I thought that it didnt really get going until about page 100. Even so, when it did get going it was brilliant. One of the strangest stories i have ever read, but that made you want to read on until the very end. I would definately recommend it.

Ciara, St Paul's Bessbrook  8 out of 10

I thought it was an exciting and dare-devil type of book I loved it. I would have changed the names because some like Silas were a bit hard. I love reading but this book made me feel like I was'nt reading more like I was there in the story. I liked all the ghosts and gouls. I loved the scary hit-man who won't stop until his job is complete!!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS BOOK YOU MUST READ THIS IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gemma, St Louise's, Belfast  9 out of 10

A murderer kills his mum, dad, sister, where does the baby go? a graveyard! ghosts find him and his mun's ghost asks the friendy ghosts to like after him! they look after him, BUT, the murderer is still on the loose. Bod, short for Nobody, finds secrets in the graveyard and finds friends.a thriller that has adventure in it. a great book for 12+

Ciaran, Aquinas  10 out of 10

I feel that this book is very weird. It was a good book but it was full or ghosts and random spirits, not to mention a scary hitman who won't stop until he has completed his mission. This book is definitely for someone who doesn't mind a bit of gore at the very start of the book and a random story line in the middle. I think this book shows us that no matter who your parents are, you are still normal. I recommend this book to everyone with a curious nature!

Jemma, Other School  10 out of 10

This book was quite good. It was good in the middle but I got a bit lost in it. The end of the book was really good. It was exciting. My favourite character was Bod..

Damian, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  7 out of 10

This book was really interesting and I loved the start. It is a really well thought out story to keep you on the edge of of your seat.

Eoin, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  8 out of 10

This book is absolutely amazing! It is so scary that I got goosebumps everytime I tried to read it! In most books the story starts and nothing interesting happens, but this book started straight away and there was no waiting for something interesting to happen, it encouraged me to keep reading it! Everytime I lifted the book and planned to only read one chapter, I couldn't I had to keep reading, I couldn't stop! My favourite character would have to be Bod, because he goes by the rules but lets his adventurous and curious side take over! A real page turner!

Abi, Methodist College Belfast  9 out of 10

This book was sooo good!!!!!!! It was quite creepy and the twist at the end just made it even better!!!!

Rachel, Methodist College Belfast  9 out of 10

This book was really good. I got goosebumps while reading this. This is a must have thriller book!!!

Jordan, Methodist College Belfast  10 out of 10

I am only half - way through this book so far, but I absolutely love it! It has a really fast pace and it never stops !!!! It is definitely between "The Graveyard book" or "Dark Calling" for my top two!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ryan , St Patrick's High School, Keady  10 out of 10

This is an extremely good, it has a superb start because it gets into the story right away there is no waiting for something to happen. It is really intresting and a real page turner, definately my favourite by far.

leanne, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen  10 out of 10

This is a very good book but at the start i found it hard to get into, but after i read the 1st quarter i got more intrested and couldn't put it down

simon, Bangor Grammar School  7 out of 10

I did not like at all. If I told you why it would give away the ending!

Dearbhail, Victoria College, Belfast  2 out of 10

I found this book great and interesting, after reading the first 20 pages I became hooked to it and didn't want to stop reading it.

Robbie, Bangor Grammar School  8 out of 10

It was okay, the start was VERY VERY VERY VERY........ VERY boring. When it reached the climax it kicked off

George, Bangor Grammar School  7 out of 10

I think that the book was a bit boring. that is why i gave it a low rating

Matthew, Royal Belfast Academical Institution  3 out of 10

I read the first 10 pages and thought that it very boring up to this point and i am not looking forward to reading the rest of it.

Peter, Royal Belfast Academical Institution  4 out of 10

I liked this book at the start but when i got into the book I didnt like it at all. The story just did not appeal to me.

Niamh, St Joseph's College Coalisland  4 out of 10

This book was really good had a very good storyline and when I started reading i couldnt stop. The characters where all great. Bod is a great charater goes by the rules but lets his curious and adventure side take over sometimes through the story. Really interesting to read. I would recommend this book to friends.

Anna, St Joseph's College Coalisland  9 out of 10

This book was one of the best book I ever read. I would love it to win the NI book award.

joel, Bangor Grammar School  9 out of 10

I haven't read anything like this before. Totally captivating from start to finish. I loved all the characters; the little bits of personal information about the ghosts made the subject of death quite lighthearted. Bod was a really interesting character, but I likes the mysterious Silas the most. The illustrations were brilliant. I couldn't wait to find out why Bod's family had been the victims of the man Jack. A great read for teenagers and adults.

Mrs V H McCord, Royal Belfast Academical Institution  10 out of 10

I found this book very interesting, I was never bored with it!!!!!!!! Bod is a boy who is far from normal so you cant really tell what will happen to him. I felt pity for him, but in parts I was laughing my head off (he told his history teacher that the event had happened in a diffrent way.) It was a great book and easy to read.

Maeve, Sacred Heart College, Omagh  9 out of 10

I really enjoyed reading the Graveyard Book. It was very enjoyable and exciting .

Catherine, Hunter House  7 out of 10

I thought this book is more for older people, as I found it difficult to understand the plot of the book. Introducing lots of characters meant that you are not reading about the same characters all the time. I understood the story in the middle, though the in rest I was completely lost! Bod was my favourite character, he is the main character in the book. Also the book has got a lot of chapters and one of them was about 40 pages long!

Brendan, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  10 out of 10

This book was confusing at the start but I got into it towards the end. I loved the characters, especially Bod. It was very spooky as he is a very mysterious character

Caoimhe , St Genevieve's  6 out of 10

This book was OK - I got a bit lost in the middle but I loved the way you met all the different characters. The end was really exciting and I love the character of Bod.

Eimear, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  6 out of 10

I usually like books like Twilight, something with adventure and GOOD Vs EVIL, but this book was really interesting. It had excitement but I think it was really spooky. I would recommend it. It might appeal more to boys but I still liked it.

Fiona, St Patrick's High School, Keady  6 out of 10

I am a girl with interest in only the types of books that contain excitement, challenge, fantasy, risk and danger and this book was the most amazing book I have ever read. I will shortly be looking forward to more books of Neil Gaiman.

Alizeh, Belfast Royal Academy  9 out of 10

I loved the book, especially meeting all the different characters. I never put it down because in every chapter something different was happening and you never got bored.

Aoife, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  9 out of 10

This book is amazing, I never put it down!! When I first got it I thought it looked very boyish, but as the saying goes - 'never judge by it's cover' - and it was right. This book is amazing. In the book it has a whole load of different emotions. Neil Gaiman is a genius! I highly recommend this book, I don't want to give anything away, so if you want to find out if it's good - give it a go and read it. You won't regret reading it I promise!

Chelsea, Lisneal College, L'Derry  10 out of 10

ive just started the book and it is really good cant wait to finish it....

niamh, St Joseph's College Coalisland  6 out of 10

The most imaginative story I have read in a very long time - I had to read it all in one go! Do not dismiss it as not for you just from the title and blurb. I would thoroughly recommend it to readers of all ages.

Miss McAdoo, Holy Trinity College, Cookstown  10 out of 10

Níl mé criochnaithe ach tá mé corr i bheith ann ach is bréa liom an leabhar

I read this book in 4 days and enjoyed it because everything came together in the end, brilliant

Cónall, Colaiste Feirste  9 out of 10

If you want to escape to another world this is just the book to read. Very atmospheric with all the right ingredients for a chiller, thriller, mass murder, ghosts and great characters. Left me wanting more when the book ended. I would recommend it to both adults and children.

Mrs McConnell, St Louise's, Belfast  10 out of 10

I really enjoyed this book, it keep me enthralled from the first page. It was well written, the story was not what I expected from the blurb. I will be recommending this book to everyone children and adults.

Mrs McNamee, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen  10 out of 10

This book has stayed with me ever since I read it. From the blurb, I thought perhaps the book would be too much of a chiller for me, but that was definitely not the case. The book is quirky, really well written and I think it is a wonderful read that will appeal to everyone. Really worth the 10 marks I am giving it!

Mrs Lindsay, Royal Belfast Academical Institution  10 out of 10

One of the best books I have ever read and I think alot of people would agree with me on that. A brilliant book all round.
