it could of had a larger and better story line but is very good for a short and easy book.

Monster Z Rex can think and act for himself but Adam's father created him and he cannot be found. There are people out there trying to stop Adam and Z Rex from finding 'their' father. This was a good storyline and the book cover was different, but i read the book at a leisurely pace as it didn't give me a buzz.
— Kyle, Holy Cross College, Strabane
I didn't really enjoy this book as it doesn't really suit my style of reading. This book was sort of scary but more science fiction. I didn't like it, it was just too BORING!!
— Aaron, Sacred Heart College, Omagh
this book was nothing like i expected. it was unreal!!!!!!!
— Katie, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen
I thought this book was utterly ... average. I thought the dinsoaur was a bit scary as he was a bit like superman. It didn't really appeal to me as I thought the the characters were a bit overshadowed by the house in new mexico. IT WAS AWESOME!!!
— Jason , Aquinas

I think this book was amazing and full of scary things. I would recommend it to the public but I think it is particularly for boys aged around 10-13.

— catherine, Hunter House
Z.Rex is a brilliant book by Steve Cole and there is a very good ending when Zed kills the y.rex by planting a bomb in its mouth Adam Adlar can go back to live with his dad in a normal life and not be held prisoner by a killer z.rex.
— Dylan, St Joseph's H S, Crossmaglen
one word, AWESOME
— George, Bangor Grammar School
I didn't know what to expect from this book but it was really good. The story goes at a cracking pace, full of adventure and a pinch of 'scientific-fantasy'. I agree with other reviewers in that this book is geared more for boys with the fight scenes, gaming scenarios and nearly all male character list. All in all a fantastic, in every sense of the word, book.
— Mrs Beattie, St Paul's Junior H S, Lurgan
I thought this book was absoulutely BRILLIANT!!!!! It was so exciting the whole way through! It made me worry and laugh it was just soooooooooooo good. This is my favourite award book so far! It is for boys and girls if you just love adventure!!!

— james, Bangor Grammar School
This book was quite interesting. It is directed more to the attention of boys rather than girls. You never know what to expect in this story. I would recommend this book to boys more than girls because of the subject that the story is about.
— Áine, St Patrick's High School, Keady
The front cover alone is enough to make you pick up the book and once you start reading it you get caught up in the story. Unbelievable but fun. More suited to boys than girls especially when the clone and Z-Rex fight each other.
— Mrs McConnell, St Louise's, Belfast
This book is one of the best books I ever read.I think it is every good book.
— Jeswin, Bangor Grammar School
Z-Rex is an action-packed, sci-fi, mystery novel and has some good qualities but it is not my type of book.
— Patrick, St Paul's Junior H S, Lurgan
To be honest I thought that the book was rubbish and wouldn't be the type of book that I would enjoy.
— Treise, St Genevieve's
Quite a strange book but in a sense it was quite good. Besides the fact that I don't like dinasours, I would mostly just recommend this book to boys.
— Dearbhail, Victoria College, Belfast
This book is an outstanding book to read. It is a book for I would say ages 9 and above. I didn't think it was scary but it was thrilling. It was a very good book to read.

I think this book was really good especially when Adam met Z-rex but even better when the enemies made an exact same copy of the Z-rex and the fight in Arena.

Níor léigh mé móran den labhair seo mar gur shíl mé nach raibh sé iontach simúil agus gur labhair do ghasúirí a bhí ann.
— Clár, Colaiste Feirste
I think it sounds really good. I have a thing for action and sci-fi books so i found it quite interesting.
— Jack, Sullivan Upper School
A great story and maybe not as far fetched as you might think ... they are talking about using dinosaur DNA and remember Jurassic Park....
