Info from the publisher

Curtis Jobling, Dead Scared

Simon and Schuster. ISBN: 9781471115776

When Will finds himself in hospital, but unable to make anyone see or hear him, he realises that he never made it home from his first kiss with the school hottie. Knocked off his bike in a road traffic accident, Will is now officially dead - and a ghost. But somehow his best mate, Dougie, can still see him, and, what is more, increasingly Will seems bound to Dougie, going only where Dougie goes. Once they've exhausted all the comic possibilities of being invisible, they set about unravelling the mystery of Will's predicament. Is it something to do with that kiss, or the driver of the car that killed him and didn't stop? Maybe they will find an answer by investigating the rumour that there is an unhappy spirit haunting the ruins in the school grounds, and if so, why? What they discover is a long-buried mystery, which stretches its fingers right into the present...

A truly excellent book that shows just how much fun it is to be a ghost and how difficult it can make life for your best mate and of course when the main character states that he is gonna haunt his best mate ast the end of the book.
It is an excellent book and I loved every moment of it.
10/10

I really enjoyed Dead Scared. The plot pulled me in and at times I could never put the book down. I don't usually like humorous books but this is defiantly an exception. It is nice to see that two friends can form such a close bond that Will is drawn and connected to Dougie instead of his family. It's plot is great and I would really recommend it to someone looking for a book to read. I read a lot and have very high expectations for books to meet so 8 out of 10 is a very good mark when I am marking books.

Dead scared was an amazing book. It brought humour, friendship and haunting to the book. Kids should definatly read the book because it teaches them about ghosts. I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone who like ghosts.

Dead Scared was a great book it grips your attention from the start! It's heartwarming that only Will's best friend Dougie can see him.My favourite characters are undoubtedly Dougie and Will they are hilarious and Dougie defiantly lights the whole book up! The only bad thing about this book is that if you were a ghost it's a bit unrealistic that you would be tied to your best friend and not a sibling or your parents but it is wonderful that it's two best friends bound together through thick and thin, life and death. I recommend this book to people who like mystery and humour! It's defiantly worth the read!

This book is ok. It was really interesting at the start but it got boring. It had a good plot but i thought it could have been better. The ending was kind of really flat. I would recommend it to people who like humour.

I really enjoyed Dead Scared ,it really entertained me . I always wanted to read more. I found parts of it really funny. Ifanyone wanted to read this I would definitely recommend it. This is totally my type of book as I love action, mystery, detective work and adventure. If you are interested in any of those subjects then you will love this book. My favourite part was the first trip to the house but I'm not going to spoil what happens for anyone. So if you want to know read the book!!!

I think Dead Scared was really funny! If there is going to be a sequel then I would definitely read it. My favourite part was when Will scared the life out of his friend, Dougie (No pun intended there!). It's true that ghosts are not original, but I still found it interesting because you rarely see a book that is written from the ghost's point of view. Overall I found it extremely hilarious, but not very scary and I would definitely recommend it!

Ok let me just say, this is GREAT!!! First of all this just felt sooooooooo good to read as of instead of me reading this it felt like I was there seeing smelling and feeling the WHOLE time it was AMAZING. Also as this is the first mystery ghost type of thing I might even read more of this type of thing! Wait no i will read more of that! I was a little dissapointed in him not actually finding the driver though it was so good I'll just over look that. SPOILERS!

It was an ok book . I am not a big fan of mystery , I am not really into ghost and detectives . This book would be very good for people that are in to all that . My favourite part would be the part were he comes back from the dead and frightens his friend .

This book is brilliant. I love alot of mystery and this book is full of it. As he awakens in the hospital, he finds out that he is dead and gives a chill down your spine. When he's at his funeral, the only person who can see him is his best mate. Dead scared is really funny, but not to forget, it's scary

I didn't really like Dead Scared, the idea of a ghost was not very original in my opinion and the book was too rushed. The thought of death being throughout the whole book was also kind of depressing and the fact that he spent hardly anytime around his parents unrealistic. The fact that he would be tied to his best friend is nice but again unrealistic, if you would be tied to anyone it would be one of your parents (or both) or a sibling. Overall, Dead Scared didn't keep me wanting to read more or be given a higher rating.

I really love this book because it is funny and sometimes scary. It is one of the best i've ever read. One day there was a boy called Will and he was driving his bike to his friend Dougies house and he crossed the road and a car appeared out of nowhere. It knocked Will off his bike and killed him. At the wake of Will, Dougies face drained when he looked towards where Will was standing. Will was a ghost and nobody could see him and hear him except Dougie. I would really recommend this book as a must read.

It was good, really good! They are making it so hard for us. This book was amazing, along with the others that I have read! I am looking forward in the future to more books by Curtis Jobling, I just hope they are as good as this one! Brilliant!

Brilliant, fantastic,amazing

This book is brilliant. It is the first book I have read for this award and if they are all as good as this one it's going to be a hard choice.
The ending is very slow though once the main plot ended.
But I still loved it
