A Message from Chris Bradford
I’m totally thrilled The Ring of Earth has won the NORTHERN IRELAND BOOK AWARD 2011. It’s such a great honour considering the high calibre of books on the shortlist. To be honest, I never expected to win - especially as I chopped Bangor Grammar School’s projector screen in half with my samurai sword! I’m about to start writing book 7 in the Young Samurai series and this is the best incentive an author can have. Thank you to all the young samurai who voted for me.

The runner-up was Alex Scarrow's Time Riders. In third place was Tim Collins's Diary of a Wimpy Vampire.
